Is what I say confidential?
Is what I say confidential? As a licensed clinician in the State of New York, I am bound by the National Association of Social Workers’ code of ethics and confidentiality as well as by Title 42 of the CFR and the Mental Hygiene Law Section 33.13. We are also compliant with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). This means that unless you are a danger to yourself or others, or you know about a child being abused, I will respect your confidentiality.
How often should I schedule sessions?
Most clients schedule a session twice a month. Appointments can be scheduled as frequently as necessary to meet your needs.
What about missed appointments or cancellations?
We all have hectic lives and I am happy to accommodate you whenever possible. I ask that you give 24-hour notice if you need to cancel an individual session.
Do you accept private insurance?
I accept Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Independent Health as primary insurances. I do NOT accept health insurance for DWI evaluations/treatment. If you have questions regarding your insurance, you can contact your insurance company and they can let you know if I am an accepted provider with your plan. It is YOUR responsibility to be aware of your insurance coverage and the limits of that coverage. You will be responsible for the cost of any sessions which are not covered by your insurance company.
Another option is to identify me as an out-of-network provider. In short, you would pay for the provided services at the time of each session and submit an invoice to your insurance company at the end of each month at which time your insurance company would discuss reimbursement directly to you. At the end of each month, clients would be provided with invoices which they are able to submit to their insurance companies for reimbursement.
On the back of your insurance card, there should be a toll-free number for questions related to your mental health benefit. When calling, be sure to check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions:~ What are my mental health benefits?~ What is my deductible and has it been met?~ How many sessions per year does my plan cover?~ How much does my plan cover for an out-of-network provider?~ Is approval required from my primary care physician?~ Many of our patients are reimbursed up to 80% of the session fee.
What is/are your fees?
Substance abuse assessments are $400 which covers two appointments, one urinalysis sample and all the necessary paperwork for any court appearance. Insurances are NOT accepted as payment for DWI evaluations/treatment.
The fee for a 60-minute individual session is $80. Any additional participants will be charged an additional $10/fee.
The fee is expected to be paid in full at the end of each session.
